Cook With A Doc:
Live Plant-based Cook-Along Classes

Taught by: Dr. Katumuluwa

Dates/Times: Coming soon!

Duration: Sessions will be 90-120 mins long

Who: These sessions are designed for all ages, all cooking skill levels and are open to everyone (i.e. you do not need to be a patient of the practice to join). Whether you are a beginner cook, looking to improve your knife skills and get more comfortable in the kitchen so you can prepare more healthy meals, or you’re an experienced cook looking to learn more about plant-based cooking…you’re in the right place!

What: In each session we will be cooking 1-2 plant-based recipes together, each from our own kitchens. A brief description of each recipe and any special equipment needed will be listed on the sign-up page (coming soon). The dishes we will make will include recipes from both Dr. K as well as some of her favorite recipes from other plant-based cooks/chefs/recipe creators. You’ll be cooking each recipe step-by-step along with Dr. K and there will be plenty of time for questions. When you sign-up for the session you will receive the links to the recipes, including the ingredient list, so you can shop and gather what you need prior to the session.

Where: Sessions will be conducted online over Zoom in a group format. (You can create a free Zoom account if you do not already have one.)

Fee: $50 per device (laptop/tablet/etc). Since the price is per device, we encourage you to invite your family or roommates to join and cook along together!

If you are interested in joining a session, please sign up for class updates HERE so we can let you know as soon as a class is scheduled! (FYI: Adding your name to this interest list lets us know when we have enough interest to start offering these sessions, so we encourage you to join this list instead of just checking back on the website periodically.)

I love talking about food with my patients because it is such an integral part of our health, well-being and identity. Food is so much more than just calories, and changing what we choose to eat is arguably one of the most powerful things we can do to heal ourselves from the inside out. But many times, when I speak to patients, I find that food choices and food preparation are often sources of significant stress to them because they feel they don’t have the time, information or skillset to prepare healthy, delicious and affordable meals at home. My hope is that cooking in a fun group environment, in the comfort of your own kitchen and getting to ask questions as you cook will help you discover the joy of cooking and help build your confidence in preparing meals you and your loved ones can enjoy. I hope you join us!
