Phytonutrient Spectrum Foods
Despite our best efforts, we can all get stuck in a rut sometimes when it comes to our diet…oftentimes eating the same handful of foods each week. This handout is a great resource that breaks down the phytonutrients and health benefits of different colored plant foods, as well as providing a large list of examples of foods of each color of the rainbow.
I recommend circling the foods that you currently eat on a weekly basis. Then look for where there may be room for improvement. Are there some colors that you’re not consuming much of? Are you a creature of habit and rotating through the same 3 red foods week after week? What one new red food could you try out this week? etc. -
Phytonutrient Spectrum Checklist
This is a fun handout you can use to track how many servings of different colored plant foods you’re eating daily. Use this a few times and you’ll get into the habit of doing a mental rainbow checklist as you go through your day. It’s a great way to make eating the rainbow easier and more fun for the whole family…and maybe make for some healthy competition!

Magnesium-rich Foods
Magnesium is a critical nutrient for many processes in the body, including digestive regularity. If you’re struggling with constipation, see if you can incorporate some more of these magnesium-rich foods into your diet.
